Gibeon iron meteorite, 8.1 g — 32.7 mm long on a 3.3 mm diameter. A slender rod rather than a slice, which is an unusual way to present this material and gives it a very different presence from a flat pendant.
Gibeon is among the most sought-after of the iron meteorites, valued for the quality and regularity of its internal crystal structure. Like all iron meteorites it is an iron-nickel alloy, and the pattern within it only becomes visible after acid etching.
