A bear carved from Muonionalusta — 27.5 mm across, 4 mm thick. A round-format carving on a generous section: at 4 mm there is enough depth to model the animal rather than outline it.
Muonionalusta is an iron meteorite: an iron-nickel alloy in elemental form, carrying an internal crystal lattice that no terrestrial process reproduces. Acid etching brings that structure to the surface, where it follows the contours of the carving.
