This specimen comes from the legendary Muonionalusta meteorite, a fine octahedral iron meteorite discovered on the Swedish Finnish border. It collided with Earth about one million years ago, and its metallic core formed during the birth of the solar system, which is older than all the rocks on Earth.

Muonionalusta is an iron-based metal that easily oxidizes if exposed to continuous moisture. Follow simple care to permanently preserve its stunning patterns:
1. Keep away from damp environment, water, sweat and chemicals (perfume, lotion, cleaning spray).
2. Long term storage: Dry with ultra-fine fiber cloth and store in a dry and sealed box wrapped in rust proof silicone.
3. If making jewelry: Seal the finished product with a transparent protective coating to prevent loss of luster.
4. Do not place outdoors or in bathroom/kitchen areas.
