Reading a large face
On a face this size the etched lattice shows its full grammar: long bands crossing at fixed angles, terminating against one another, with finer structure in between. That geometry is a direct consequence of how the parent body cooled — roughly a degree per million years — and it is why no laboratory has been able to fake it.
