An open-style Seymchan pallasite ring, 8.6 g, handmade — the heaviest in our Seymchan ring group and adjustable in size, so it fits without being made to measure.
Recovered in the Magadan region of Russia. Stony-iron meteorites make up roughly 1.2% of all meteorite material found on Earth, and the olivine-bearing portion of Seymchan is only about 15% of its 351 kg total — the rest is IIAB octahedrite nickel-iron.
The metal phase rusts if left exposed, so each piece is epoxy sealed. Avoid abrasives and prolonged soaking.
